Karachi Rally Celebrates 26th Amendment and New Chief Justice

A peaceful rally organized by the Pakistan Yakjehti Council took place in Karachi to celebrate the passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment and show support for the newly appointed Chief Justice, Yahya Afridi.

Participants praised the amendment for its role in strengthening democratic processes by preventing the unjust dismissal of elected officials. The rally also highlighted the amendment’s significance in introducing merit-based standards for the appointment of Chief Justice.

A key focus of the demonstration was the new criteria for judicial appointments, with attendees expressing approval of the updated qualification and competency requirements for the Chief Justice position.

Speakers at the rally voiced their appreciation for Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, commending his qualifications and integrity.

They also thanked the government for its efforts to eliminate the interest-based financial system. The peaceful gathering aimed to showcase public support for judicial reforms and congratulate Chief Justice Afridi on his appointment.
