A tragic incident in Karachi has sparked a legal battle against the city’s power company, K-Electric.
The daughter of a man who allegedly died from electrocution is pursuing justice and demanding compensation for her father’s death. Below are the details of the case.
The daughter of the deceased has filed a lawsuit against K-Electric, seeking Rs30.92 million in damages, as reported by InShort News on Saturday.
The case was submitted to the Karachi city court, where she claims her father’s death was the result of K-Electric’s negligence.
The incident occurred on July 20 in Landhi’s Majeed Colony, where Gulzar, a father of six, was electrocuted while returning home from work.
According to the petition, a live wire had fallen into water accumulated on the road, causing her father’s death. The tragic event was recorded on video and circulated on social media.
The petitioner argues that K-Electric’s failure to maintain safety standards led to the untimely death of the family’s sole breadwinner.
She further alleges that the police have not registered the incident and is now seeking compensation for her father’s loss through the lawsuit.
