IDEAS 2024 – Karachi Schools Closure Sought for Defense Expo Security

-

The International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024, a prominent event for showcasing defense capabilities, is set to take place in Karachi this November, prompting significant security and traffic measures.

To ensure robust security for the event, DIG Traffic has requested the closure of schools in Karachi from November 19 to 22, ARY News reported.

In a letter to the Karachi commissioner, the DIG Traffic highlighted that keeping schools open around Sharah-e-Faisal and Karsaz during the event would disrupt traffic flow. Closing schools in these areas is expected to facilitate smoother traffic and security arrangements.

IDEAS 2024, an internationally significant defense exhibition, will be held at the Karachi Expo Centre from November 19 to 22. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the official partner, actively promoting the event through its aircraft.

First launched in 2000, IDEAS serves as a platform to showcase Pakistan’s domestic arms industry and provide international vendors with opportunities to cater to the needs of Pakistan’s armed forces. The event has consistently drawn high-level delegations and international participants, underlining its importance to the government and defense sector.
