Karachi — Once a crumbling, forgotten structure, the Government Bahadur Yar Jung School in Gulberg Town’s Federal B Area Block 11 has now been reborn as a vibrant, fully equipped model institution.

This dramatic transformation is part of a landmark initiative to revive public education, carried out by the local government of Gulberg Town under the dynamic leadership of Nusratullah and backed by strong grassroots support of Jamat e Islami

🎉 A Colorful Inauguration by Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman

The newly revamped school was inaugurated in a colorful and uplifting ceremony by Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by former Town Chairman Farooq Naimat Ullah, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Hameed Suhag, along with teachers, parents, students, local residents, and several dignitaries.

In his keynote address, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman highlighted the alarming number of out-of-school children in the country, revealing that over 26.2 million children are currently not attending school — including nearly 10 million from Sindh alone.

In this context, the introduction of the Education Card is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at opening doors of opportunity for underprivileged students. Through this card, students living in Federal B Area will be able to purchase books, stationery, and other educational essentials.

He reaffirmed Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to empowering Karachi’s children with knowledge, character, and strong values, enabling them to pursue a brighter, more dignified, and secure future.

He emphasized that restoring a school is not merely a symbolic act — it is an investment in the minds and futures of the next generation.

🏫 A Complete Educational Overhaul

Under the guidance of Gulberg Town Chairman Nusratullah, the project focused not only on structural restoration but also on creating an environment where students can truly thrive. The revamped Government Bahadur Yar Jung School now includes:

  • A modern computer lab to boost digital literacy
  • A basketball court to promote physical fitness and team spirit
  • Playground swings and recreational spaces for younger students
  • A spacious sports ground for all-round development
  • A safe, secure, and aesthetically designed school building conducive to learning

Chairman Nusratullah, also from Jamaat-e-Islami, shared the vision behind the transformation, noting that this is just one step in a larger, phased plan to upgrade all government schools in the Federal B Area. He also revealed that teachers are receiving training to meet the demands of modern education — with a particular focus on areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), technology integration, and updated teaching methods.

“We’re not just fixing buildings — we’re reimagining education itself,” said Nusratullah.
“Our goal is to prepare students for a future where innovation, critical thinking, and skill-based learning will be essential.”

🧠 Bano Qabil: A Model for Youth Empowerment

During the ceremony, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman also drew attention to Jamaat-e-Islami’s flagship project, Bano Qabil — a highly acclaimed initiative that provides free IT and vocational training to thousands of young people across Karachi.

Bano Qabil is more than a training program — it’s a revolution in youth empowerment,” he explained.
“It’s the brainchild of Jamaat-e-Islami’s vision to equip the youth of this city with the skills they need to not only find employment but to become leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.”

He connected the philosophy behind Bano Qabil to the transformation of Bahadur Yar Jung School, stressing that education and skill-building go hand in hand, and both are essential if Karachi is to rise again.

“This school is not just a building. It’s the beginning of a citywide transformation — one that puts education, dignity, and development at the center,” he added.

📈 A Proven Record of Civic Transformation

Chairman Nusratullah also took the opportunity to present a summary of his administration’s two-year performance, highlighting a long list of tangible achievements in Gulberg Town under Jamaat-e-Islami’s leadership:

  • Repair and carpeting of dilapidated roads
  • Restoration and upgrade of public schools
  • Construction of open-air gyms
  • Rehabilitation of public parks and fountains
  • Installation of new streetlights in various neighborhoods
  • Improvements in clean water supply and sewage systems
  • Introduction of rainwater harvesting systems
  • Organized community cleanup drives across multiple blocks
  • Launch of “Shining Stars Festival”, a celebration of student talent and civic pride

“Our aim is to make Gulberg Town a model of what a developed, clean, and education-friendly city zone should look like,” said Nusratullah.
“This school is proof that with honest leadership and public trust, real change is possible.”

With projects like the restoration of Bahadur Yar Jung School and youth empowerment initiatives like Bano Qabil, Jamaat-e-Islami is positioning itself not just as a political force — but as a catalyst for meaningful, people-centric transformation in Karachi.

The message from the event was clear: education is no longer a backseat issue — it is the engine of progress, the key to revival, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
