Diwali celebrations in Karachi showcased vibrant cultural festivities and religious harmony.

A Diwali celebration was organized at the Sindh Governor House, featuring stalls for mehndi, bangles, food, and a fireworks display. Children received sparklers to mark the occasion.

In Karachi, as with the rest of the world, the Hindu community celebrated Diwali with fireworks, bhangra, and music, embracing the festival’s joy and vibrancy. Speaking to Aaj News during the event, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori highlighted the contributions of those awarded medals for bringing pride to Pakistan globally. He noted that all minority communities in Pakistan celebrate their religious festivals freely, and this event was organized to enhance the joy of the Hindu community.

The Governor also cut a Diwali cake, and notable figures, including Arts Council President Ahmed Shah, Anwar Maqsood, and international guests, were presented with medals.

Earlier, Ramesh Kumar, head of Pakistan Hindu Council’s Gandhara Tourism Task Force, hosted a lively Diwali celebration at his home with bhangra and music. He emphasized that Diwali, a festival symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness, showcases Pakistan’s commitment to religious harmony. He added that people of all communities, including Sikh, Christian, and Muslim leaders, joined the celebration, reflecting the nation’s spirit of unity.

At the Swaminarayan Temple in Karachi, Diwali preparations are also complete, with the Hindu community eagerly shopping and preparing for the festivities. Diwali holds an ancient place in Hindu tradition, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, and is celebrated with zeal across Pakistan.

Participants extended heartfelt Diwali greetings, wishing love and prosperity for all.
