Reports are intensifying regarding Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif potentially having thyroid cancer.
A few days ago, Maryam Nawaz traveled to Geneva for throat treatment, accompanied by her father, Nawaz Sharif, and Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
Following her departure to Geneva, various speculations began circulating on social media.
Meanwhile, well-known journalist Mansoor Ali Khan claimed that Maryam’s visit to Geneva is not routine, but due to a throat cancer diagnosis.
However, PML-N leaders state that the rumors about Maryam Nawaz’s health are baseless and without truth.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Maryam Nawaz has traveled to Geneva for throat treatment. During the PDM government, she had previously visited Geneva, where she also underwent throat surgery.
Reports suggest that before her trip to Geneva, Maryam Nawaz visited Sharif Medical Hospital in Pakistan and then departed.
It’s also speculated that Maryam’s health took a sudden turn, prompting her immediate travel to Geneva.
There are also claims that two years ago, she underwent a thyroid checkup that raised concerns about cancer. Her recent tests have been conducted, and the reports are expected in a few days.
Meanwhile Maryam Nawaz clarified rumors about her health, stating, “Speculations have been spread about me having cancer, but that’s untrue. I have a parathyroid issue, and treatment for this condition is available in only two countries. I don’t wish to gain sympathy by discussing my illness, but I felt compelled to address it. The nation is moving past the Fitna Party, and the public has ignored PTI’s protest calls.”
Speaking to party workers in London, Maryam further addressed her health, saying, “False rumors about my illness are circulating on social media. Claims that I have cancer are baseless; I have a parathyroid issue.”
Maryam added, “Vlogs are being made, and questions raised about why I didn’t get treated in Pakistan. I want to clarify that all my treatment is done in Pakistan, but parathyroid disease is one that is treated only in two countries worldwide.”
