Interior Ministry Removes Pervez Elahi’s Name from Passport Control List

-

The Interior Ministry has officially removed the names of former Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi, along with Rasakh Elahi and Zara Elahi, from the Passport Control List (PCL).

This development comes after a report was submitted by the public prosecutor to the Lahore High Court, informing the court of the ministry’s compliance.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza presided over the hearing, during which the court addressed the petitions filed by Pervez Elahi and others. The court ultimately dismissed the petitions based on the prosecutor’s report.

The petitions highlighted that despite earlier court orders, the names had not been removed from both the Passport Control List and the Exit Control List (ECL). As a result, the court has initiated contempt of court proceedings against the responsible officers for non-compliance.
