Bilawal to the World – Act Now or Risk War

-

At the United Nations, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari delivered a searing warning to the global community — step in now, or brace for a regional disaster as tensions between Pakistan and India heat up.

Bilawal to the World - Act Now or Risk War

U“Every responsible nation must act. War between Pakistan and India will cost the whole world. Peace is in everyone’s interest,” he declared during a press conference at Pakistan’s UN Mission in New York.

Blunt Words for Modi: “Desperate, Defeated, Dangerous”

Bilawal pulled no punches, calling Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks “irresponsible, petty, and a reflection of political panic.”
“Modi is the first Indian PM to lose a war — we downed six of their jets. No world leader talks like this. His frustration is showing,” he said, painting Modi as a leader losing both ground and grip.

Kashmir Key to Peace

Underscoring that Pakistan seeks peace, Bilawal made it clear: “No meaningful peace is possible without justice for Kashmir. The right to self-determination must be respected.”

While stressing Pakistan’s preference for diplomacy, he warned that its forces stand ready to respond if provoked: “We want dialogue — but we will defend ourselves if necessary.”

Indus Treaty on the Brink: “This Is a Water War”

In his meeting with UNGA President Philemon Yang, Bilawal raised a major red flag — India’s actions risk collapsing the Indus Waters Treaty.
“Weaponizing water sets a dangerous precedent,” he warned. “Suspending the treaty could trigger a humanitarian crisis and future wars.”
He urged the UN Secretary General to intervene and help restore the treaty before it’s too late.

Yang echoed support for dialogue, emphasizing that international law and the UN Charter must guide peace efforts.

Pakistan’s Counterterror Fight and Regional Stability

Bilawal also spotlighted Pakistan’s victories against terrorism and renewed commitment to crush extremist groups.
“We’ve defeated terrorism before — and we’ll do it again. These groups have no future in Pakistan,” he said.
He also highlighted how unchecked arms left behind in Afghanistan had fueled instability across the region.

UN Responds: “We Stand With Peace”

UN Secretary General António Guterres welcomed Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and de-escalation.
“The UN remains fully committed to promoting peace and stability in South Asia,” he said.
