In a powerful move blending sports with sustainability, two-time PSL champions Lahore Qalandars pledged to fight environmental pollution—just before thrilling fans with a victory over Islamabad United on their home turf.
The win handed Shadab Khan’s team their first loss of the tournament, but it was the Qalandars’ off-field commitment that truly stole the spotlight.
Before the match began, the entire Lahore Qalandars squad took a collective oath to combat pollution, reduce litter, and promote a greener environment. Punjab’s Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb led the ceremony, and the moment quickly went viral on social media.
The oath declared:
“I pledge that from today, cricket is not just a game for me, but a commitment to climate action. I will uphold environmental responsibility in both practice and daily life. I will work to prevent water wastage, promote mindful use and conservation, and raise awareness among others.”
