A culinary legend has left the table. Chef Zakir Qureshi, the man who turned everyday kitchens into gourmet havens and inspired a generation to fall in love with cooking, has passed away in Karachi at the age of 57.
Chef Zakir had been battling kidney disease and receiving dialysis treatment in the United States, but sadly, doctors informed his family that his condition had become untreatable. A month ago, he returned to Pakistan to spend his remaining days surrounded by family. His funeral prayer will be held tomorrow after Asr at Jamia Rashidiah in Malir Saudabad, followed by burial at the Saudabad graveyard.
Renowned for his distinctive cooking style and exceptional recipes, Chef Zakir had a devoted following both in Pakistan and internationally. His love for food and his talent for simplifying complex dishes made him a beloved figure, transforming the art of cooking into an accessible and enjoyable experience for millions.
