Team India just secured the bag—big time! After clinching the Champions Trophy earlier this month, the BCCI rewarded Rohit Sharma & Co. with a massive $6.72 million cash bonus—three times the actual prize money of the tournament.
India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the March 9 final in Dubai, marking their second straight ICC title after last year’s T20 World Cup win. While the official Champions Trophy prize was $2.24 million, the BCCI, the richest cricket board in the world, added a whopping 580 million rupees extra for players, support staff, and selectors.
“Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special, and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence,” BCCI President Roger Binny said. Board Secretary Devajit Saikia added that this win cements India’s dominance in white-ball cricket and sets the tone for even bigger achievements ahead.
One thing’s for sure—Team India isn’t just winning trophies, they’re stacking cash too!
