In a bold statement of progress, Bilal Azhar Kayani, Convener of the Parliamentary Task Force on SDGs, declared that Pakistan’s economy is on the up, with inflation dropping to its lowest point in six years.
With reforms in full swing and new projects rolling out across the nation, Kayani emphasized that the country’s road to recovery is clear – despite past setbacks.
Kayani criticized PTI for its empty promises, stating that while they were quick to unveil plaques, real change was lacking. In a recent press conference, he highlighted the ongoing economic reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and assured the public that the government’s efforts would continue to strengthen the economy.
He also applauded the Punjab Chief Minister for launching new projects regularly, praising Maryam Nawaz’s contributions to the health sector.
Kayani did not hold back in criticizing the previous government (2018-2022), which, according to him, left the country in a state of damage.
On the economic front, Kayani pointed to the significant reduction in the policy rate and a decrease in inflation to its lowest level in six years. He reiterated that the government’s work on economic recovery and fighting terrorism will go on.
Reflecting on infrastructure, Kayani noted Nawaz Sharif’s motorway projects as key to the country’s development and highlighted the ongoing work on Jhelum Road, set to be completed by 2025.
