Pakistan's Food Exports Rise 13.8%- Gains in Rice, Sugar, Meat; Decline in Fruits, Spices

However, despite the positive growth, some sectors experienced a dip in exports, highlighting the mixed performance of various food commodities. Here’s a breakdown of the key contributors to both the rise and fall in trade:

Pakistan's Food Exports Rise 13.8%- Gains in Rice, Sugar, Meat; Decline in Fruits, Spices

📈Rice: Exports up by 14.5%, from $1.637 billion to $1.875 billion

📈Fish and Fish Preparations: Exports rose by 1.47%, from $199.074 million to $201.996 million

📈Vegetables: Exports increased by 1.71%, from $128.661 million to $130.859 million

Declines in Exports:

📉Fruits: Exports dropped by 1.32%, from $171.345 million to $169.084 million

📉Spices: Exports fell by 16.14%, from $57.465 million to $48.191 million

📉Other Food Items: Exports decreased by 10.82%, from $614.194 million to $547.712 million

Despite the mixed performance of different food commodities, Pakistan’s food exports have shown overall resilience in the first half of the fiscal year. The growth in key sectors like rice, tobacco, and sugar has offset the declines in others, reflecting the dynamic nature of global trade.

As the year progresses, continued efforts to bolster exports in high-demand commodities will be essential in maintaining the positive momentum while addressing challenges in other sectors. With targeted strategies, Pakistan can further enhance its food exports and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
