Daraz is among several companies that are planning layoffs, and in recent situations, the company will witness changes in high-ups including its Chief Executive Officer Bjarke Mikkelsen who already called it quits.

The company’s CEO Bjarke Mikkelson worked at Daraz for eight years and with his exit, James Dong, the CEO of Lazada Group, will take up the reins as acting chief. The outgoing CEO cited personal reasons to step down from the coveted post.
Mikkelson’s departure comes with reports of annual layoffs at e-commerce giant, potentially affecting 25percent of workforce. The company had similar layoffs in 2022, but this time, it appears to align with bigger cost-cutting trends.
