PTI’s Stand: Protesting Alleged Rigging in Punjab Assembly Elections

Published on

As the inaugural session of the Punjab Assembly approaches, elected candidates are gearing up to take their oaths.

However, the PTI is planning to stage a protest against what they claim is the unfair seizure of provincial assembly seats due to extensive rigging.

Following a decision by PTI leadership, all successful candidates supported by the party, including Mian Aslam Iqbal, the party’s nominee for Punjab chief minister ship, will attend the assembly session.

Hammad Azhar, PTI’s general secretary for central Punjab, declared on X (formerly Twitter) that PTI-backed candidates who were allegedly defeated due to rigging in the Form 47 results would gather for a protest outside the Punjab Assembly. The protest is expected to include party members and supporters. Azhar criticized the “PDM gang,” suggesting that they are not acting in the best interests of the people, and emphasized the importance of allowing the public to freely choose their leaders for societal improvement.
