Pakistan Alleges Indian Involvement in Killings on its Soil, Cites ‘Credible Evidence

-

Pakistan claims to possess “credible evidence” connecting Indian agents to the murders of two Pakistani citizens on Pakistani soil. According to Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Qazi, these cases involve a sophisticated international network spanning multiple jurisdictions and are reminiscent of similar incidents in Canada and the United States.

The victims, Shahid Latif and Muhammad Riaz, were reportedly shot in separate incidents last year. Riaz was killed during morning prayers in a mosque in Rawalakot in Pakistan-administered Kashmir in September, while Latif was killed outside a mosque in the city of Sialkot in Punjab in October.

Qazi highlighted the striking resemblance in the modus operandi of these killings to cases reported in Canada and the United States. Notably, both countries had previously accused Indian agents of being involved in an assassination and an attempted murder on their respective soils.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs promptly rejected these allegations, dismissing them as “false and malicious” in a statement posted on X.
