PPP Co-chairman suggests dialogue with opposition party PTI

-

As political tension continues to rise in Pakistan with the government locking horns with the Supreme Court, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has suggested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hold talks with opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Last week, the PPP’s core committee resolved to approach all parties in the coalition government to discuss the issue of dialogue among political parties, including the PTI. While PTI Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhry appreciated the PPP’s move, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl rejected the idea. Zardari made his suggestion during the National Constitutional Convention in the National Assembly.

During a recent session, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed the importance of unity among political and democratic forces in order to address various issues facing the country, including economic challenges, inflation, unemployment, and terrorism. Zardari emphasized the need for all institutions to operate within their constitutional boundaries to achieve national stability and progress. He also noted that undemocratic forces have historically exploited political differences and urged all parties to work together to promote political and economic stability in Pakistan.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of upholding the constitution and working together to bring stability to the country. He also mentioned that the National Security Committee has decided to launch operations against terrorists and defeat them as they have done in the past.

He called for April 10, the day the country got its unanimous constitution in 1974, to be recognized as a historical day and included in the school syllabus.

The minister also expressed disappointment with judges who have supported dictators and made decisions against prime ministers, and urged the Chief Justice to work with his fellow judges to uphold the integrity and dignity of the court.

He expressed confidence that the finance minister is making strides to address the economic crisis imposed by the PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
