‘SO WHEN WILL YOU STOP TALKING NEGATIVELY ABOUT YOURSELF YOU DUMBO?’
Who needs a critic when you are on your own enough to bring yourself down with continuous Pickering around the clock? Yes, it’s the tiny voice in your brain that tells you that you’re not funny, that your best friends despise you, and that the only reason your three-year relationship is still with you is that he asked you out on a dare. Except for the ones that are truly cool and regular, we all have that voice. But if you listen to it, you’ll talk yourself into a lifelong sadness and physically end up a miserable loser with low self-esteem.
TAKE NOTES AND UNDERSTAND
Typically, when you are speaking negatively to yourself, it blends in with all of your other negative ideas because you are hopelessly inept at optimism. Hold! Take a moment to realize that you’re being foolish and engaging in negative self-talk the next time you call yourself a name.
The sooner you understand when you are speaking down to yourself, the sooner you may put a stop to it.
STEP OUTSIDE YOUR HEAD
There’s a reason our thoughts are known as “thoughts” rather than “reals.” You’re completely delusory. Your imagined universe can’t be even remotely accurate to what is happening.
For example, you once convinced yourself that you could never ask your employer for a letter of recommendation because not only do you terrible at your work, but you also can’t spell recommend. No one can spell that term correctly at once, and they don’t expect you to either, so there’s no need for you to worry about it.
Furthermore, they are more concerned with how poor you are at your work.
YOU NEED TO NAME YOUR CRITIC
You must take it personally if you speak negatively about yourself since no one knows you better than you do. On the other hand, if that is Rocky talking down to you it is Rocky! and not you! And you can shut him up by saying that he is no one to dare to tell you that you cannot wear a tight-fitted shirt because you are thin as a stick! without muscles! without abs…
Okay, he has a point, but Rocky said it, not you, and he is a horrible person!
SAY IT ALL OUT
No matter how plausible anything seems in your brain, it will undoubtedly sound absurd when spoken aloud. Practice now.
Nobody is going to give me a job because I am fat. After all, I like eating junk!
I am not like others and nobody likes me because I am a nonadventurous person who only likes food.
Because I have never spoken to someone, I am unable to compose genuine dialogue.
See don’t they all sound Crazy?
ADD ON SOMETHING POSITIVE TO EVERY NEGATIVE THOUGHT
Let’s go through some of your previous thoughts again, but with an optimistic ending:
Nobody is going to give me a job because I am fat. After all, I like eating junk! But my intelligence is way heavier than my weight which makes me eligible for thousands of jobs.
I am not like others and nobody likes me because I am a nonadventurous person who only likes food. But I have a great sense of humor which can make the saddest person laugh out loud.
This might be handy whenever next time you try to bring yourself down with your thoughts.
A SERIOUS NOTE TO THAT CRAZY PERSON WHO CONSTANTLY NAGS HIMSELF OR HERSELF ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEMSELVES:
Dorothea Brande says,
“There are seeds of self-destruction in all of us that will bear only unhappiness if allowed to grow.”
There are actions you can take to feel more confident and acknowledged, even while some of the causes of the low subconscious, such as hereditary characteristics, early childhood events, and personality features, cannot be changed. Keep in mind that no one is more deserving than another. You might be able to preserve a positive feeling of self-worth by remembering this.
Simply put, you can’t change your past that is sealed forever like surely buried! But there is a fair chance for you to lower the volume of that idiotic ruinous voice inside your head and take a chance on that tiny mini voice that is trying to tell you that you are worthy! You Matter.
