Cyber Scam Exposed in Karachi-Blackmailer Behind Women’s Phone Hacks Arrested

-

Karachi police have arrested a man named Sameer, alias PK, for running a cyber–blackmail racket by hacking women’s mobile phones and social media accounts. The Eidgah Police team carried out the raid, and the suspect’s confession has revealed disturbing details.

Sameer used phishing links to hack social media IDs, steal personal photos, videos, and data, and then blackmail women for money. Considering the seriousness of the case, police have officially sought help from the FIA Cyber Crime Wing for a detailed forensic examination of the digital evidence.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted he was only a seventh-grade pass and unemployed. He bought a hacking link for Rs 5,000 from a man in Lahore and used it to trap women on different social media platforms, gaining full access to their phones and accounts.

He also confessed to learning hacking and blackmailing tricks through online groups. Sameer admitted creating inappropriate videos of four women and storing them.

According to a police letter sent to FIA, hundreds of obscene videos and sensitive data of women were recovered from his seized phones and laptop. The suspect even attempted to push women toward prostitution by offering money.

One victim shared that he sent her pictures of her daughter to threaten her, leaving the family terrified. On 17 November, the family lured him to Ranchore Line, overpowered him, and handed him to police—despite his repeated threats of “serious consequences.”

A case has now been registered under the Telegraph Act. DIG South has formed a special investigation team, while FIA has been asked to conduct digital forensics, recover data, and assist the affected women.
