MUMBAI:Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is once again in hot water — this time over an ad for Rajshree Spices that allegedly misleads consumers. The Kota Consumer Court in Rajasthan has issued him a notice and set the next hearing for November 27.

The complaint claims Salman promoted the brand by saying that “every grain of spice contains saffron,” a statement now under legal scrutiny. The petitioner argued that Salman, being a youth icon, should avoid promoting products that can send false or harmful messages.
The complainant pointed out that while global celebrities steer clear of endorsing even soft drinks, Indian stars still appear in ads for pan masala and tobacco-based products — potentially influencing young fans.
BJP leader and Rajasthan High Court lawyer Inder Mohan Singh Hani also questioned the ad’s authenticity, noting that 1 kg of saffron costs nearly ₹4 lakh, whereas pan masala sells for just ₹5, calling it “clearly misleading.”
The court has asked both sides to submit their responses before the November 27 hearing.
