October 28, 2025: Islamabad is set to shine on the cricketing map as the 30,000-seat Islamabad Cricket Stadium near Margalla Hills gets official approval, bringing domestic and international matches to Pakistan’s capital for the first time.

After more than a decade of delays, disputes, and false starts, Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to begin construction immediately. This world-class stadium, located near D-12 at the scenic foot of the Margalla Hills, will be a game-changer for Islamabad.

The venue will host both domestic and international cricket, finally giving Pakistan’s capital a landmark stadium that matches its status. Islamabad fans, it’s time to celebrate—the city’s cricketing future just got a massive boost!
