Veteran Pakistani actor Mustafa Qureshi suffered a serious injury during his morning walk in Karachi when he tripped into a broken patch of road, resulting in a leg fracture and head injuries.
The 85-year-old legendary actor, known for his iconic roles in over 700 films, was taken for immediate medical care, where doctors confirmed a fracture and advised six weeks of complete rest.
According to reports, the incident occurred early morning after Fajr prayers when Mustafa Qureshi, following his routine walk outside his residence, stumbled into a damaged section of Karachi’s uneven road. The fall caused him to hit his head and leg, leaving him injured and unable to continue walking.
Sharing details about the mishap, Qureshi expressed gratitude that the situation wasn’t worse.
“My foot got stuck in a pothole, I fell hard, my head hit the ground, and my leg broke — but thank God my eye was saved,” said the veteran star.
He also voiced concern over the poor condition of Karachi’s roads, urging authorities to ensure proper maintenance to prevent such incidents.
“May Allah guide our leaders to fix the city’s broken roads so others don’t suffer like this,”
he added.
The Maula Jatt actor was scheduled to attend Raza Rabbani’s book launch later that day but had to cancel due to his injuries. Following treatment, doctors applied a plaster and advised him to avoid all social engagements for the next six weeks.
Fans and fellow artists across Pakistan have flooded social media with prayers for Mustafa Qureshi’s speedy recovery, while many also criticized the Karachi city administration for negligence and deteriorating road infrastructure.
