ICC Summons Haris Rauf and Farhanullah After India–Pakistan Clash 🔥
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has called Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and Farhanullah for a formal hearing following their controversial on-field celebrations during the high-pressure Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan.
Their gestures have become the center of debate, sparking heated reactions on both sides of the border.
Farhanullah, who scored a gritty half-century, celebrated the milestone by posing like a gun with his bat and following it up with an “air firing” gesture. Haris Rauf, known for his fiery temperament, responded to taunts from Indian fans by making a jet-downing gesture along with the iconic “6-0” symbol – symbolizing Pakistan’s clean sweep record against India in ICC events.
These moves, though aggressive in nature, were seen by many Pakistani supporters as harmless celebrations of passion and rivalry.
It is worth noting that such gestures are not unprecedented in sports. A former Indian captain once celebrated a milestone with a gun posture, while Virat Kohli too has used the same gesture after taking a spectacular catch.

In football, Cristiano Ronaldo’s jet-downing posture remains one of the most iconic celebrations worldwide.
Players across sports often express their emotions with flamboyant or aggressive body language, which has generally been accepted as part of the spectacle.

Pakistan’s camp, however, insists the current row stems from India’s actions. The Indian team not only refused to shake hands with Pakistani players but also dedicated their earlier victory to the armed forces – a move widely regarded as a violation of ICC’s Code of Conduct.

Critics argue that the ICC’s failure to act firmly at that stage allowed tensions to spiral.
Pakistani fans now accuse the ICC of bias, with many mocking the body as the “Indian Cricket Council.” Under the leadership of Jay Shah, they argue, the ICC appears to be turning a blind eye to provocations from the Indian side while cracking down on Pakistani players.

In the end, the game that was meant to unite fans through thrill and passion has instead been dragged into politics and controversy. Players come and go, rivalries ignite and fade, but cricket has always been bigger than individuals and nations.

Sadly, when the ICC fails to act fairly and firmly, it is not just Pakistan or India that suffer – it is the spirit of cricket itself that stands defeated.
