TEL AVIV — Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a stark ultimatum to residents of Gaza City: evacuate immediately or face total destruction.
In a video posted on social media platform X, Netanyahu declared, “In the past two days, we have destroyed 50 terrorist towers — and this is just the beginning. Ground operations in Gaza City will intensify. To the local population, I say clearly: you have been warned, leave now” .
The Israeli military has commenced heavy aerial bombardments in Gaza City, describing the assault as a “mighty hurricane,” and warned Hamas that if it does not release all hostages and surrender its weapons, the area is on the brink of total destruction .
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz reiterated the threat, stating, “Today, a massive hurricane will strike the skies of Gaza City, and the roofs of the terror towers will tremble” .
Just hours before the strike, the military had instructed residents in the targeted 12-story Al-Roya 2 building and nearby tents to evacuate.
The conflict has claimed over 64,000 Palestinian lives and displaced hundreds of thousands. International calls for a ceasefire continue to grow amid the escalating humanitarian crisis.
