Players Could Lose ₹200 Crore due to Fantasy Gaming Ban !
Hindustan Times and other India Media reported that the real-money fantasy gaming ban has sent shockwaves through Indian cricket! After the government banned apps like Dream11, BCCI’s ₹358 crore sponsorship deal ended abruptly, leaving the board rushing for a new backer just weeks before the Asia Cup.

Star players aren’t spared either. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Rishabh Pant, and other top names could see their annual earnings drop by ₹10–12 crore each, while emerging players like Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj may lose nearly all fantasy-related income.
IPL teams also feel the pinch. Sponsors like My11Circle pulled out, costing franchises ₹10–20 crore each, and smaller T20 leagues fear collapse. Experts warn the ban could slash ₹8,000–10,000 crore from India’s digital ad market.
While the law aims to curb gambling, it’s creating a massive financial shockwave across Indian cricket, affecting players, teams, and the entire sponsorship ecosystem.
