Family Under Siege! Aleema Khan’s Two Sons Arrested In May 9 Case

-

The storm around May 9 has intensified as Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan’s second son, Sher Shah Khan, was dramatically picked up by plainclothes officers in Lahore.

Family sources reveal that although police vehicles trailed behind, it was men in civilian clothes who blocked Sher Shah’s car and dragged him away. At the time, Aleema’s husband was behind the wheel.

Family Under Siege! Aleema Khan’s Two Sons Arrested In May 9 Case

This comes just a day after her elder son, Shahrez Azeem, was arrested for alleged involvement in the May 9 violence. Police produced him in an anti-terrorism court seeking 30-day custody, but the court approved only 8 days of physical remand.

In court, Shahrez’s lawyer Salman Akram Raja raised serious objections, saying he was “kidnapped from his mother’s home after Imran Khan’s bail” and that he was in Chitral from May 6 to 13, nowhere near the riots. He argued Shahrez was being falsely implicated after 27 months.

The defense also reminded the court that Shahrez is a national athlete who represents Pakistan globally, warning that such arrests are damaging the country’s image.

Despite the protests and uproar from his family, the court ultimately handed Shahrez over to police custody for 8 days—tightening the noose around Imran Khan’s family even further.
