No ‘Nutella’, No ‘Hitler’ – Australia Bans 89 Baby Names!

-

Australia just released a baby-naming blacklist—and it’s wilder than your aunty’s WhatsApp group!

From ‘Adolf Hitler’ to ‘Nutella’, the government has officially banned 89 outrageous baby names, declaring they’re just too weird, offensive, or downright dangerous for the playground.

Under the country’s Births, Deaths and Marriages Act, anything that sounds like a royal title (hello, King, Queen, Princess), religious figures (God, Pope, Jesus Christ), or straight-up brand names (Facebook, Ikea, iMac, Medicare) is a big NO.

And yes, even “Australia” is banned. You can be Aussie, but not Australia.

The list also includes wild picks like:

Monkey

Terrorist

Harry Potter

Cyanide

Passport
…because obviously, nobody wants to hear: “Cyanide, finish your lunch!” in a preschool.

Experts say parents are going bold and “expressive,” but the law draws a line when it comes to public decency and common sense.

So if you were planning on naming your newborn Dalai Lama iPhone Kardashian, maybe just… don’t.
