According to media reports, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) is now caught in a legal dispute for naming its AI-powered robotic dog “Champak” during the IPL.
The Delhi High Court case was filed by a children’s magazine of the same name, accusing BCCI of infringing on its commercial rights.
The court, however, questioned the claim, pointing out that the magazine also has a character named “Chiku”—which happens to be cricketer Virat Kohli’s nickname. “Would they sue him too?” the court asked.
