Twist in Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Case: 3 Jailed, 8 Walk Free

The verdict, delivered by ATC Judge Arshad Javed, had been reserved earlier. The court found Amna Urooj, Mamnoon Haider, and Zeeshan guilty of extortion, though it ruled that the prosecution failed to substantiate the kidnapping allegations against them.

Meanwhile, the court acquitted Hafiz Iqbal, Falak Sher, Qaiser Abbas, Tanveer Ahmed, Rasheed Ahmed, Yasir Ali, and Hassan Shah, clearing them of all charges.

The case had sparked widespread interest given Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s public stature, but the outcome has now shifted focus to the lack of evidence behind several of the initial claims.
