Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Struggles at Box Office Despite Eid Buzz

-

Eid, Salman Khan, and a blockbuster—sounds like a guaranteed hit, right? Well, not this time. Sikandar, Khan’s latest Eid release, is facing a rough ride at the box office, falling short of his past festive hits.

The film kicked off with a fair start, earning INR 26 crore on its opening day, followed by a slight boost on Eid, reaching INR 29 crore. However, Tuesday saw a steep 32% drop, bringing collections down to INR 19.5 crore—a concerning trend.

Compared to Salman’s past Eid blockbusters like Tiger 3 and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sikandar is underperforming. Trade analysts predict further declines, with just INR 3.88 crore generated by Wednesday afternoon. So far, the film has amassed INR 78.38 crore but is already being replaced in some theaters by The Diplomat and All The Best Pandya in cities like Surat and Ahmedabad.

Salman’s Eid releases usually cross INR 100 crore within three days, but Sikandar may take five. Adding to the disappointment, fans have criticized Khan’s performance as “lazy” and “stiff,” making this one of his rare Eid setbacks.

Fans Slam Sikandar as Salman Khan’s “Biggest Flop”

Indian media reports suggest that audiences are disappointed with Sikandar, criticizing its lack of storyline and calling it the biggest flop of Salman Khan’s 37-year career.

One viewer took to Instagram, labeling the film a “waste of money” and slamming its visuals as “low-quality.” Fans argue the movie has no real plot, merely showing Salman Khan walking in slow motion with AI-enhanced visuals to make him look fit—far from the Dabangg era.

Another disappointed fan said, “Salman Khan’s character made no sense,” while someone else predicted, “This film is a flop. It’s Eid, and theaters are still empty.”
