Renowned model and actress Mawra Hocane just pulled off the surprise of the year by announcing on Wednesday evening that she and Ameer Gilani had gotten married.
There had been rumours in the past that the two were romantically involved, but they never addressed those claims, often referring to each other as friends. They’ve starred together in the 2023 drama Neem as well as the 2020 drama Sabaat.
On Tuesday night, tweets began circulating claiming that the pair were getting married and by Wednesday evening, Hocane shared a picture in their wedding clothes at the Lahore Fort.
Her caption was a simple, “and in the middle of chaos… I found you,” along with the date and the rather clever hashtag #MawraAmeerHoGayi.
Speaking of their wedding clothes, Hocane donned a beautiful sky blue lehenga paired with a short shirt of the same colour. Her lehenga featured a colourful border at the bottom along with heavy embroidery in pale gold with pink accents.
Gilani wore charcoal-coloured shalwar kameez paired with a waistcoat and shawl of the same colour. His pop of colour came in his tan Peshawari chapals.
Their post was met with joy and congratulations, with several of their star pals popping by to wish them the best, including Hocane’s sister Urwa and her brother-in-law Farhan Saeed.
