Motorway Closure Causes Rs.151.5 Million Loss During PTI Protests

In a recent update to the National Assembly, the Minister of Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, provided details about the closure of key motorways due to protests and their financial impact.

The National Assembly was informed that the M-2, M-3, and M-4 motorways were closed from November 24 to 26 due to protests. Minister stated the closures were necessary to ensure public safety amid the law and order situation.

The National Highways and Motorway Police had also issued a public notice regarding the closure of the motorways.He mentioned that during the period from November 24 to 26, the toll revenue loss amounted to 151.5 million rupees.

During the past week, toll revenue from the three motorways had totaled 336 million rupees.
