Newly Elected President Donald Trump Decides to Ban Transgender Personnel from U.S. Military
Donald Trump, the newly elected President of the United States, has decided to disqualify and remove transgender personnel from the U.S. military.
The Sunday Times reported that Donald Trump is preparing an executive order to remove transgender individuals from the U.S. Armed Forces.
The report states that transgender personnel will be discharged on medical grounds, meaning they will be considered ineligible for military service.
Currently, there are nearly 15,000 transgender individuals serving in the U.S. military.
It is worth noting that during his previous term, Donald Trump had issued a similar order that led to a ban on transgender recruitment in the U.S. military.
After Trump, President Joe Biden reversed this ban and allowed transgender individuals to join the military.
However, the British newspaper’s report also claims that this time, Donald Trump will also dismiss transgender personnel already serving in the military.
A survey of over 2,000 U.S. soldiers revealed that many were diagnosed with gender dysphoria (confusion about gender identity), while others identified differently from the gender they were assigned at birth.
The report further suggests that Donald Trump will sign this executive order on January 20, immediately after taking the oath of office.
