John Alfred Teneswood, the world’s oldest person to have experienced both World War I and World War II, passed away at the age of 112.

The British national died yesterday, having set the Guinness World Record as the oldest living person earlier this year in April.

Prior to him, Venezuela’s Juan Vicente Pérez held the record, living to 114 before passing away.

Born on August 26, 1912, in Liverpool, just months after the Titanic tragedy, Mr. Teneswood lived through two world wars and served in the British Army’s Pay Corps during World War II, according to British media.
