Crackdown on Smuggled Fuel- Sindh Closes 176 Petrol Stations to Ensure Quality

-

In a decisive move, the Sindh government has ordered the closure of 176 petrol stations across the province for selling smuggled and substandard fuel. A letter from the Sindh Home Department emphasized that no petrol pump will be permitted to sell smuggled fuel in the future.

The department has communicated with the commissioners in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sukkur, and Larkana, pointing out that these petrol stations were involved in the illegal trade. Local authorities have been instructed to seal the affected petrol pumps, take immediate legal action, and halt any further distribution of the illicit fuel.

Additionally, the Home Department has mandated the digitization of all petrol stations in Sindh to enhance regulation and tracking of fuel quality and compliance.
