Green Future – Pakistan to Showcase Top 10 Climate-Focused Startups at COP29 in Azerbaijan

-

Pakistan will showcase its leading climate-focused startups at the COP29 climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, this November, emphasizing its commitment to sustainable development.

This initiative aims to highlight projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote eco-friendly solutions.

To support this effort, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has launched the Green-Tech Hub (G-TH) at its Islamabad campus.

This facility is designed to foster the development of green technologies and innovations, serving as a collaborative space for entrepreneurs and industry leaders.

At the G-TH inauguration, Alaal Hassan, CEO of Ignite, announced that ten promising startups from agritech and energy sectors will represent Pakistan at COP29.

Three of these startups will receive additional support for fundraising and job creation, encouraging young innovators to focus on climate solutions.

Aisha Humera, Secretary of the Ministry of Climate Change, highlighted the environmental challenges Pakistan faces. Despite contributing less than 1% of global carbon emissions, the country has experienced significant impacts from climate change.

This Green-Tech Hub provides a dedicated space for young innovators to promote green solutions and engage with the industry,” she stated.
