Pakistani bodybuilder Rameez Ibrahim, fresh off his gold medal victory at the Mr. Universe 2024 competition in Las Vegas, opened up about the struggles he faced leading up to his historic win.
Despite defeating competitors from 44 countries and securing a pro card in the Men’s Physique category, Ibrahim shared his disappointment over the lack of support and recognition from Pakistan.
Talking to media Ibrahim revealed the challenges he encountered while trying to enter the prestigious competition.
“I didn’t have any backing to get my name registered in this competition,” he lamented, highlighting the financial and logistical hurdles he had to overcome on his own.
Reflecting on his past achievements, Ibrahim, who in 2022 became the first Pakistani to win three world titles in Thailand, expressed frustration at the continued lack of recognition in his home country.

“Despite being a world champion, I received no acknowledgment in Pakistan. It’s disheartening, but I will continue to represent my country with pride,” he said.
The bodybuilder remains undeterred, sharing that he is already focused on preparing for upcoming competitions.
“The next title is very important for me, and I am working hard to bring it home,”
Ibrahim stated confidently, determined to add more honors to his name despite the challenges he has faced.
As he continues to make his mark on the global bodybuilding stage, Ibrahim hopes that his success will eventually garner the support and recognition it deserves within Pakistan.
