Section 144 Imposed in Karachi to Maintain Law and Order

-

Karachi administration has imposed Section 144 for two days, prohibiting public gatherings and rallies, as stated in an official notification.

The ban will be in place on October 18 and 19, restricting gatherings of five or more people, processions, and public meetings to ensure public safety.

Similarly, the Punjab government has also enforced Section 144 across the province, effective from Friday, October 18. This decision, according to the Punjab Home Department, aims to prevent potential terrorist attacks during public gatherings, safeguarding lives and property.

In response to the political climate, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has announced nationwide protests on October 18, urging citizens to join the demonstrations for the release of its party leaders and workers.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, called on the public to stand against what he described as unconstitutional changes, warning that silence today will lead to greater challenges for future generations.
