FIA Arrests Beggar Pretending Umrah Pilgrims

-

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two women at Karachi airport for attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia under the guise of performing Beggar.

The FIA spokesperson confirmed they were detained for planning to beg in the Kingdom.

One of the women’s sons has been in Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa since 2022. The FIA is currently gathering more information on the case.

Previously, the FIA offloaded 24 individuals posing as Umrah pilgrims from a flight at Multan airport, who confessed they intended to seek alms in Saudi Arabia.

These arrests highlight ongoing concerns about the trafficking of beggars through illegal channels, as reported by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.
