LHC Gives Deadline for Decision on PTI’s Rally Request

-

Lahore High Court (LHC) has instructed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lahore to make a decision on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) application to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan by September 30.

PTI is seeking approval for a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on October 5, the birthday of PTI’s founder, Imran Khan. The court’s direction follows a plea from PTI’s Punjab Vice President, who urged the LHC to address the matter.

The court has ordered the DC to reach a decision by the end of the month and instructed the court’s official lawyer to inform the DC of this ruling.

Previously, PTI had approached the district administration, seeking permission for the rally, asserting that organizing public gatherings is a constitutional right. PTI’s Central Punjab Senior Vice President, Akmal Khan Bari, also filed a petition requesting court approval for the event at Minar-e-Pakistan.

This development has brought attention to the PTI’s plans for a significant political gathering on October 5.
