Legendary Pakistani filmmaker Altaf Hussain, a monumental figure in the country’s cinema, has passed away at 79.

Despite battling illness, Hussain remained active in the industry until just before his death, even starting work on his latest Punjabi film Tere Pyaar Nanu Salaam days earlier.

With a career spanning decades, Hussain directed over 80 films, leaving a profound mark on both Punjabi and Urdu cinema. His notable works include Dhi Rani, Mehndi, Rani Beti Raj Kare Gi, Ek Pagal Si Dalki, Sahib Ji, Mard Sala Sahib, Dunya, Char Khon Ke Payase, Hasan Ka Choor, Men Don’t Let Live, and Chaudhry Badshah.

Celebrated for his compelling narratives and unforgettable performances, Hussain’s legacy continues to influence the industry.

He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. His passing has led to an outpouring of grief from the film fraternity, with many mourning the loss of this cinematic giant.
