The Sindh government has officially enforced biometric verification for vehicle registrations and ownership transfers across the province.
Announced by Sindh Excise Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the initiative aims to increase transparency and prevent fraud in vehicle transactions.
This policy will roll out in phases: starting July 1, biometric verification is required for new vehicle registrations. By November 1, the system will extend to those purchasing vehicles, and in the final stage, both buyers and sellers will need to complete biometric verification.
Citizens can verify their identities at NADRA e-facilitation centers or district excise offices. Minister Memon also announced plans to modernize the Excise Department, including launching premium number plates to raise funds for flood relief efforts.
