Chup Tazia Processions Cause Major Road Closures in Karachi

-

Karachi’s traffic police have introduced a diversion plan due to today’s two chup tazia processions, leading to significant road closures and traffic rerouting.

Chup Tazia, which concludes the Muharram mourning period, honors the martyrdom of Imam Askari.

The first procession began at Nishtar Park at 6:30 am, moving through MA Jinnah Road, Capri, and Saddar Dawakhana before ending at Noor Bagh, Musafir Khana in Moosa Lane around 11 am. Several roads have been closed and alternate routes set up to manage traffic and ensure safety.

Traffic from Gurumandir Chowk has been redirected to Bahadur Yar Jung Road in Soldier Bazaar. Vehicles from Nazimabad are being rerouted through Lasbela Chowk, while traffic from Liaquatabad is being directed to Teen Hatti and Lasbela Chowk.
