-

On Thursday, the Shahid Hayat Police Training Centre College in Saeedabad hosted a significant passing-out parade for 191 newly trained women police officers, part of a larger cohort of 1,351 officers.

These newly graduated officers will soon be deployed to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals involved in CPEC projects across Sindh.

IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon highlighted the pivotal role these officers will play in protecting Chinese personnel and emphasized the positive impact their presence is expected to have on both police performance and public perception.

He noted that all 191 women officers hail from Karachi and expressed optimism that their inclusion would contribute to a more effective and approachable police force.

Additionally, IGP Memon announced major investments in police infrastructure, with Rs4 billion allocated to upgrade police stations, including the establishment of model stations in each district at a cost of Rs280 million.

Minister for Home Affairs Ziaul Hasan Lanjar assured that efforts to combat street crimes in Karachi and banditry in Sindh’s riverine areas have shown improvement, underscoring the preparedness of these new recruits for their critical roles in securing CPEC projects.
