Equipment worth millions of rupees has been reported stolen from Mayo Hospital, Lahore, Punjab’s largest medical facility.
The theft occurred during the hospital’s ongoing renovation, with valuable items like air conditioning systems, patient beds, medicine trolleys, and oxygen supply pipes among the missing goods.
The assistant medical superintendent (AMS) of the hospital has formally requested action from the chief executive under the PEEDA Act. In a letter, the AMS highlighted that despite several months passing, the responsible supervisor has yet to provide a complete list of the stolen equipment.
The hospital administration claims that an investigation is underway to recover the missing items and hold those responsible accountable.
