On Friday, Meta-owned Instagram revealed that users can now add songs to their profiles.
This nostalgic feature brings back memories of Myspace, allowing users to customize their profiles with music, offering a fresh way to express personality and share favorite tunes with followers.
“Your chosen song will appear on your profile until you change it, and tapping the play button will play a 30-second clip,” Instagram stated, confirming that the feature is available to all accounts.
In a nod to the past, this feature mirrors Myspace’s old music option but without autoplay. It debuts in collaboration with pop star Sabrina Carpenter, who will feature a teaser of her upcoming single “Taste” on her profile.
To add music, simply go to “Edit Profile” and select “Add Music to Your Profile.” Choose a song and a 30-second clip to feature.
Additionally, Instagram recently introduced the ability to add up to 20 tracks in a single reel and align audio with text, stickers, and clips during editing.
