Karachi Electric (KE) consumers will face higher electricity bills in October and November following approval from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for additional charges.
KE has requested Rs2.5934 per unit for October and Rs3.1688 per unit for November due to adjustments for fuel costs in May and June 2024.
The total increase could amount to approximately Rs12.5 billion, including taxes. Critics accuse Nepra of failing to protect public interests, as the regulator routinely approves such hikes.
