Bangladesh Wins Toss, Opts to Bowl First in Delayed Test Match

The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium saw a delayed start due to overnight rain leaving the outfield wet.

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first on August 21, 2024.

Play is set to resume after a significant delay, with 48 overs scheduled for the day.

The final session will begin at 4:40 pm, extending until 6 pm, with a possible 30-minute extension to complete the overs.

Pakistan’s captain, Shan Masood, has chosen an all-pace attack for this match, including Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shehzad, and Mohammad Ali.

The match is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) third cycle (2023-2025), where Pakistan is currently ranked sixth and Bangladesh eighth.

This Test is the first of two, with the second match also set to be played in Rawalpindi from August 30, after being relocated from Karachi due to stadium construction.
