In a proud moment for Pakistan, javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem made history by winning a gold medal at the Paris Olympics with a record-breaking throw.

His exceptional performance not only brought immense pride to the nation but also earned him recognition and rewards from the Sindh government.

On Thursday, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah awarded Nadeem a Rs50 million cheque, along with the traditional Ajrak and Topi, in acknowledgment of his Olympic triumph.

Nadeem secured the victory with a throw of 92.97 meters, surpassing India’s Neeraj Chopra.

During his visit to the Sindh CM House, where he was invited by the chief minister, an additional Rs5 million was announced for Nadeem’s coach. Nadeem expressed his gratitude, noting that Shah was the first to congratulate him even before he received the medal.

The Sindh CM pledged continued government support for Nadeem on behalf of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

At the event, Sindh Sports Minister Muhammad Bux Mahar also personally handed Nadeem a cheque, and Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani revealed plans to name a road in Karachi after the athlete.

Earlier, on August 14, the Sindh Governor had also invited Arshad Nadeem to the Governor’s House to celebrate his international success.
