A massive fire engulfed Islamabad’s I-9 sector in Lunda Bazar, resulting in the destruction of over 300 shops.
Nine fire trucks and 60 firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the flames, with additional support arriving from Rawalpindi. The fire started in the Lunda Bazar area, and the Assistant Commissioner of I-9 Islamabad oversaw the rescue operations.
Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa of Islamabad confirmed that the fire has now been extinguished. He mentioned that 500 out of 2743 shops sustained damage.
Currently, thirty-one fire trucks and water bowsers remain at the scene to assist in relief efforts, with two hundred fifty rescue workers actively engaged in ongoing operations.
